Developing Tomorrow鈥檚 Leaders Today

Scientists and teachers, business leaders and policy makers, and officers for the US Army. 麻豆传媒色情片 and its Army ROTC program prepare students to be innovators and leaders for the 21st century. We produce lieutenants for the active Army, the National Guard, and the US Army Reserves. Each component has 16 branches that cater to multiple interests, including infantry, military intelligence, aviation, engineering, armor and medical services corps. Warriors wanted, each with a breadth of perspective who:

  • Demonstrate a capacity for excellence
  • Confident they will be competent Army leaders because of the rigor of the program
  • Committed to the Army for the duration and open-minded about further service

Our courses develop individual leadership and group problem-solving skills, plus you get to experience the out-of-classroom labs that get you adventuring outdoors including: Rappelling, rifle marksmanship, obstacle courses, and land navigation. Contracted students can also participate in adventure training in airborne, air assault and mountain warfare training schools.

The high school Four-Year Scholarship is for high school students planning on attending a four-year college program. You can also recieve a 3-year Advanced Designee scholarship, which means that your scholarship money wouldn't kick in until your sophomore year.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) invites everyone to an art exhibit, "Classy Cars," through Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Gulf Coast Library, third floor. The exhibit features the work of OLLI member, instructor and artist, Marty Turnbo. The library is open from 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m. There will be a reception from 11 a.m. until noon Friday, Oct, 25, at the library. Registration is required using this link. Be captivated by the dual exhibits of the 2024 Southern Miss Ceramics National and Cups of Contemplation. The Southern Miss Ceramics National is a juried exhibition showcasing ceramic vessels, sculptures and installations by emerging and established artists. In tandem, Cups of Contemplation celebrates the artistry of contemporary ceramic cups, highlighting their visual and tactile beauty. Experience the unique connection these hand-made cups offer, transforming mundane moments into a meaningful experience of pause, reflection and contemplation. Juried by renowned ceramic artists Tom and Elaine Coleman, whose work is celebrated in major museums and collections worldwide, this event promises to elevate your appreciation of contemporary ceramics. The closing reception is at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7.

This fall, Special Collections is celebrating the life and work of Mississippi author and preacher Will D. Campbell in honor of the 100th anniversary of his birth. To kick off the events, there will be a book discussion of Campbell鈥檚 National Book Award finalist memoir Brother to a Dragonfly. In this book, Campbell writes about his life growing up in rural Mississippi. Book Discussion of Brother to a Dragonfly
Hosted by Dr. Douglas Bristol, History Professor and Director, Center for the Study of the Gulf South. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m.
Cook Library Room 209A In a Brother to a Dragonfly, Campbell writes about his life growing up poor in Amite County, Mississippi, during the 1930s alongside his older brother. The book serves as an historical account of Campbell's life with his brother, his tenure as a Baptist preacher and his involvement in the later stages of the Civil Rights movement. Read more about the book. Twenty copies of the book are available to those who are unable to purchase their own. If you are interested in receiving a free copy of the book, please complete the submission form. Recipients of the free books will be based on need and are required to attend the discussion on October 22. The deadline for submissions is September 27. This event is sponsored by University Libraries and the Center for the Study of the Gulf South with funding from the Mississippi Humanities Council.

麻豆传媒色情片鈥檚 student Coalition Against Human Trafficking and the Center for Human Trafficking Research and Training are partnering with the local Domestic Abuse Family Shelter to host survivor, author and activist Theresa Flores at 麻豆传媒色情片. Flores will tell her personal sex trafficking experience and talk about her Wall Street Journal and USA Today best-selling book, 鈥淭he Slave Across the Street.鈥 In this powerful true story, Flores shares how her life as an All-American teenager who could have been your neighbor was enslaved into the dangerous world of sex trafficking while living in an upper-middle class suburb of Detroit. Her story tells of horrific criminal activity and gives dedicated activists, as well as casual bystanders, a glimpse into the underbelly of trafficking. Flores will share her story and mission to find missing children and end human trafficking. She has received numerous awards for her bravery in speaking out but also for her work in rescuing missing teens during major sporting events. She has received the L鈥橭r茅al Women of Worth Award, the Courage Award from former Ohio Gov. John Kasich and has the distinct honor of having a law named after her in Michigan.
