NDEAM 2023

Page Content

What is NDEAM?

is celebrated every October to recognize contributions of America's workers with disabilities and promote disability employment issues. This year’s theme is "Advancing Access and Equity".  For the third year, the Institute for Disability Studies (IDS) is providing a MS version of the national poster that includes photos of Mississippian youth and young adults with disabilities who are on the path to employment.  This year, IDS is also partnering with the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services to host a virtual employment summit, promote success stories and complete a social media awareness campaign. In addition, IDS will host in-person employment summits in Hattiesburg and Long Beach.

How can you celebrate NDEAM?

Help spread the word about NDEAM by downloading the NDEAM frame, stating what the month means to you and then taking a picture to share.  Download the NDEAM MS Blank Frame to tell everyone why you support NDEAM. Tag us on Facebook @InstituteForDisabilityStudies and Instagram @usmids so that we can see your post and share it on our feed! Do not forget to include these hashtags as you can: #NDEAM and #RehabAct50.

Here are some sample posts of Mississippians supporting NDEAM Month 2023 . . .
