Assistant Professor

Bio

I am an Assistant Professor of Geography and an Affiliate Faculty Member at the Center for Human Trafficking Research and Training. My research focuses on geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and spatial modelling.

I have two major branches of research:

1) Human-environment interactions, climatic resilience, and sustainable development, with a particular interest in tropical dry forests and the impacts of climate change. As part of this explore topics such as forest degradation, water stress, and land-use planning.

2) Geospatial trends in illicit markets and human centered projects. I focus on industries such as illicit massage businesses, labor trafficking, and tourism trends using online forums and big data analytics from user bases.
